SPINE

We have developed a new part of our curriculum over the last three years to support the children widening their experiences as there is a gap between what our children are able to access in our highly rural area and more urban areas. As a dad, I compare what my children can access living in Grantham also near to Nottingham and on the mainline route to London to what is locally available to our families here in Long Sutton.

The document has grown  to look at what we feel we need to give to our children if they are going to develop their wider knowledge and cultural capital.

The document is divided into 8 areas

The areas chosen are not designed to replace any part of our curriculum but are about giving the children wonderful and wider experiences. Click on the buttons below to see our SPINE activities for each year group.
