Hot meals are freshly prepared daily on the school premises in our state of the art kitchen. In line with government policy, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are offered a free hot dinner. Menus are on a 3 week rota basis and are available on the school web site, ParentPay or from the school office. Current cost is £2.30 per meal. Orders and payment must be in the school office before midnight on Tuesdays for the following week.
Alternatively, please provide your child with a nutritious packed lunch in a sensible container. Lunch is taken in two sittings using the school hall. Trained staff serve/supervise children throughout the lunch period.
All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are receiving a school meal at no cost to the parent/guardian. This is known as Universal Infant Free School Meals. It is possible for us to deliver this service due to direct Government funding however we do not know how long this will last.
There is now a new eligibility checking service for free school meals (NOT UIFSM) which will enable us to check all primary school pupils for free school meal eligibility. This system will also determine eligibility for Pupil Premium, which means schools will receive an extra £1,300 per eligible pupil from central government to fund valuable support such as extra tuition and learning support.
To register for Free School Meals please contact Miss Manning or Miss Sayers in the school office. All applications are dealt with in strict confidence and no child is ever identified as having free meals in the dining room.
